KIEV, Aug. 23 – Brazil proposes that Ukraine consider the possibility of jointly drilling for oil and gas on the Black Sea shelf, Ambassador Antonio Fernando Cruz de Mello said.

According to a posting on the Web site of the Ukrainian government, during a meeting between Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and the governor of the State of Parana (Brazil) Carlos Alberto Richa, the diplomat said, "Experts from Brazil's Petrobras company recently made a visit, and they are interested in cooperation with Ukrainian companies that extract oil and gas in the Black Sea."
