KIEV, Aug. 12 – The sunflower harvest in Ukraine in the coming 2011/12 marketing year (MY, September-August) will be 7.5 million tons, which is 10.8% up on the previous marketing year, forecasts the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
According to its estimates, sunflower exports in the new MY will rise by 88.9%, to 850,000 tons, while domestic consumption will increase by 4.1%, to 6.58 million tons.
According to the USDA, sunflower oil production in Ukraine in the 2011/2012 marketing year will rise by 3.2%, to 2.83 million tons.
