KIEV, Aug. 11 – An investigation into imports of passenger cars with 1-2.2 liter engines started by Ukraine on July 2 at the initiative of the Ukrautoprom association and the possibility of the introduction of a 47% import duty caused a jump in the car market in July, the All-Ukrainian Association of Car Importers and Dealers said.
According to an association press release, referring to data from the AUTO-Consulting Group, in July a total of 20,117 passenger cars were sold, which is 32% up on July 2010 and 20% up on June 2011.
