MOSCOW, Aug. 9 - TNK-BP's total investment in the development of shale gas fields in Ukraine by 2020 will come to $2 billion, which will allow the company to produce over 3 billion cubic meters of gas, making it one of the leading gas production companies in Ukraine, the company said in its corporate magazine, Your Company.

It was earlier reported that TNK-BP signed a memorandum of intention with local authorities and submitted applications to take part in license tenders for six sections with non-traditional gas (five in the Donetsk region, one in the Luhansk region). TNK-BP expected to receive the licenses in the first quarter of 2011 but it has yet to receive them to date.
