KIEV, Aug. 9 - Brazilian state-owned company Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), the third-largest oil company in the world, has sent a formal request to the Ukrainian authorities for information about the Black Sea shelf fields, the Environment and Natural Resources Ministry said, with reference to Brazilian Ambassador to Ukraine Fernando Cruz de Mello.

"Petrobras has sent a formal request for information about the Black Sea shelf deposits and is ready to make significant investments in this sector," reads a statement.
