KIEV, Aug. 5 – The banks of Kiev region still have the problem of having a high share of bad assets, the chief department of the National Bank of Ukraine for Kiev city and Kiev region said in a letter to the banks.

"The current situation in the banking system of Kiev region is characterized by the slow resumption of crediting activity of the banks in the conditions of dominant growth of investment in securities and the continued problem of there being a high share of bad assets," reads the document.
