Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Aug. 5 - Ukraine's international reserves went up by $229.35 million, or 0.6%, in July to $37.814 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine said on its website.

The country's international reserves in January-July 2011 increased by 9.4%, or $3.237 billion, from $34.576 billion at the start of the year.

It was earlier reported that the NBU forecast in May 2011 that Ukraine's total international reserves by the end of this year might reach the equivalent of 5.4 months of future imports even as this figure came to 5 months for the end of 2010.
