KIEV, Aug. 2 – The State Border Guard Service has said it is ready for the introduction of biometric controls at border checkpoints.

"I think the introduction of foreign passports with biometric data, which was announced by the Interior Ministry, will be carried out. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is ready for the introduction of biometric controls at checkpoints," First Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Pavlo Shysholin said in an interview with the Border Guard of Ukraine newspaper.

He added that today the service already has 100 work places with the necessary equipment for conducting biometric passport checks.
