KIEV, July 26 – The National Bank of Ukraine has appointed its administrators to two banks from the group of largest banks in Ukraine, sources in financial circles have told Interfax-Ukraine.
The decisions were reportedly made on Finance and Credit Bank and Kreditprombank (both based in Kiev), which as of April 1, 2011 were 11th, with UAH 23.176 billion of overall assets or 2.3% of the market and 15th, with UAH 14.589 billion or 1.5% of the market, respectively, among the 176 banks operating in Ukraine.
Under a 2009 NBU resolution, administrators are appointed to banks for a period of up to one year to daily monitor their operation and eliminate regulatory infringements.
