KIEV, July 15 – Ukraine in 2012 is planning to increase electricity generation by 1.3% or by 2.6 billion kilowatt hours compared to the forecasted indicator for 2011 – from 197.5 billion kilowatt hours to 200.1 billion kilowatt hours, according to a draft state program on the social and economic development of Ukraine for 2012 presented at a meeting in the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry on Thursday.
The program also foresees a 2.7% rise in electricity generation by Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs) in 2012 (by 2.4 billion kilowatt hours) compared to the forecasted indicator for 2011, from 89.1 billion kilowatt hours to 91.5 billion kilowatt hours.
