KIEV, June 1 - Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery, which is 100% controlled by Russia's Rusal, has signed a protocol of intent with Kharkiv-based Ukrdicement research institute to draw up technical specifications for the use of by-products of alumina production – red mud – in various economic sectors.
According to the company, Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery and Ukrdicement cooperated in the issue in 1990s.
"Today scientists are ready to return to documents that were drawn up earlier and draft technical specifications for each type of the use of red mud," reads the release.
