KIEV, May 31 – An accident at Feodosiya’s Morye shipyard on May 27 when a overhead traveling crane collapsed and two people were killed, should not affect the successful completion of an important contract in the military-technical sphere with China, a high-ranking official in the defense complex told Interfax Ukraine.
"The accident that occurred on Friday is a tragedy and a proper investigation will discover the cause. The main thing is that tragic events, which have not occurred before in the history of the shipyard, caused speculation over Ukraine's capability to successfully realize a contract in the military-technical sphere with China, which is very important for bilateral relations, and speculation over the fate of the high-tech production facility," the source said.
