KIEV, May 23 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine has said it will insist on the update of the law on seaports before Parliament adopts it at second reading.
"Draft law No. 0881 requires substantial revision before its discussion at second reading, as it is not in line with the requirements of the sector as a whole, and does not settle key problems, as envisaged in the presidential program of economic reforms for the further development of transport infrastructure," reads a press release from the ACC.
The ACC leadership said it believes that the law should provide for efficient instruments and mechanisms for the attraction of private investment into the port sector, guarantees of the rights of investors, and compensation mechanisms for capital investment into port infrastructure.
