SAN FRANCISCO, May 13 - Gap Inc. plans to open stores in Serbia and Ukraine later this year, broadening the U.S. clothing chain's reach in Eastern Europe, The Associated Press reported Friday.

The retailer said that it signed new deals with existing franchise partners that will put Gap stores in Belgrade and Kiev. The Kiev store is expected to open next month, while no specific opening date has been set for the Belgrade store.
