KIEV, May 12 - The United States Department of Agriculture forecasts that grain harvest in Ukraine this year will amount to 43.35 million tons, 13.2% more than last year.
According to the USDA, the wheat harvest this year will grow by 12.8%, to 19 million tons, and forage by 13.6%, to 24.35 million tons.
According to the USDA's estimates, Ukraine in the new marketing year (MY, July 2011-June 2012) will be able to export 18.5 million tons of grain, which is 54.2% up from the expected exports this marketing year. In particular, wheat exports are estimated at 8.5 million tons, against 3.5 million tons this marketing year, and feed grain exports at 10 million tons against 8.56 million tons.
