KIEV, April 22 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny lost UAH 1.9 billion from the sale of natural gas to heat supply companies in Q1, said Eduard Shvydkoy, director of Gaz Ukrayiny.

"There is a gap that formed in Q1, 2011. The figure is being determined, but it is around UAH 1.9 billion," he said at a press conference in Kiev on the results of the 2010/2011 heating seasons.

Shvydkoy said that the national budget for 2011 foresees UAH 3.6 billion to cover the gap between the prices at which Naftogaz bought imported natural gas and resold it to Gaz Ukrayiny for supply to heat supply companies.
