KIEV, April 5 – The Ukrainian government has proposed a return to the lower rates of excise duties on petroleum products that were in effect in the country before January 1, 2011.
"We will propose to reduce the excise duty on petroleum products by some $50 per ton to keep the price of petroleum products in a certain price corridor in this period," Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov said at a meeting of Ukrainian constructors in Kiev on Tuesday.
He also said that the government could set beneficial prices of petroleum products for hauliers.
