KIEV, March 28 – Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boyko has discussed the participation of leading companies in Germany in the upgrade of the Ukrainian gas transport system with representatives of those companies.
The minister said that Germany has every chance of becoming one of Ukraine's partners in the project to upgrade the Ukrainian gas transport system.
Boyko said that the Ukrainian gas transport system is one of the largest in the world and could pump around 200 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas per year. Around 100 bcm of Russia gas exports are transited through the system, or 80% of the total supplies to Europe.
