KIEV, March 25 – One of the aspects of a criminal case opened against second Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005) is an attempt to seize a portion of the property from his son-in-law - Ukrainian businessman Victor Pinchuk, former prime minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko said.
"I think that the opening of a criminal case against Kuchma has many 'positive' functions for [Ukrainian President Viktor] Yanukovych. It only seems to him that everything is positive, but, in fact, it's only a mirage for him, and he will never switch public attention from the current failures in the economic and social policy and in policy in general," she said at a briefing at the Zhuliany Airport on Friday, upon her arrival from Brussels.
