KIEV, March 12 – Ten days after ticket sales began for the UEFA European Football Championship in Poland and Ukraine between June 8 and July 1, 2012, more than two million ticket requests have been made by fans worldwide, reads a statement posted on UEFA's official Web site.
With about 700,000 people from 178 countries having registered for an account on UEFA.com, demand for the various types of tickets available for Euro 2012 has already exceeded supply in the case of 28 of the 31 matches of the final tournament. This means that lotteries, to be carried out in April, will decide the allocation of tickets for all oversubscribed matches.
