KIEV, March 3 – Ukraine's balance of payments in January 2011 improved thanks to the influence of temporary factors but growth in the deficit of the current account is still expected in future, according to Serhiy Arbuzov, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.

"The NBU's assessment for 2011 is rather conservative as a whole, as we're considering the January improvement of the balance of payments as a result of the impact of temporary and seasonal factors. We believe that the deficit of the current account could slightly expand," he said in a video address posted on the NBU's Web site.
