KIEV, Feb. 22 – The installed capacity of electrical power plants belonging to the integrated power system of Ukraine grew by 0.4% (by 203.8 MW) in 2010, to 53,162 MW, according to National Energy Company Ukrenergo.
Last year, due to reconstruction and repairs the installed capacity of Ukraine's thermal power plants (TPP), managed by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry, was increased by 90 MW, to 27,347 MW. In particular, the capacity of the first block of Zuyivska TPP after turbine reconstruction grew from 300 MW to 325 MW, and that of the seventh block of Kurakhove TPP (both managed by DTEK Vostokenergo) from 210 MW to 225 MW. The installed capacity of the eighth block of Starobesheve TPP (Donbasenergo) after overhauls was increased from 175 MW to 200 MW, and that of the eighth block at Zmiyivska TPP (Centrenergo) from 300 MW to 325 MW.
