Foreign ministry recommends Ukrainians avoid travel to Libya
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Feb. 21 – The Foreign Ministry recommends that Ukrainians avoid traveling to Libya, ministry spokesman Oleh Voloshyn announced.

"Due to the unstable social and political situation in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine strongly recommends that Ukrainian citizens avoid traveling to this state," he said.

Voloshyn noted that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has charged the Embassy of Ukraine in Libya with working out ways to evacuate Ukrainians from Libya. In addition, the minister has had phone conversations with his colleagues in Italy, Turkey and Russia on the matter of their possible assistance in the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Libya.

As was reported, there are no Ukrainian citizens among those injured or killed in Libya, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service has reported, referring to the Ukrainian Embassy in Libya.
