KIEV, Feb. 22 – The capacity of renewable power plants, not taking into account large hydro power plants and pump storage plants, grew by 14.12 MW in 2010, National Energy Company Ukrenergo has reported.
The company said that in 2010 Ukraine launched solar power plants with a capacity of 8.1 MW.
In addition, thanks to the launch of new wind units at wind farms in Crimea, their total capacity grew by 2.39 MW, to 63.06 MW. In particular, the capacity of Donuzlav wind power plant grew from 17.2 to17.8 MW, that for Prisnovodnenska wind power plant rose from 5.57 to 5.6 MW, that for Tarkhankut wind power plant from 15.5 to 16.05 MW, Aktashska wind power plant from 1.6 to 2.81 MW and the capacity of Saky wind power plant remained unchanged at 20.8 MW.
