KIEV, Feb. 14 – Starting in February, the growth in tariffs for utility services will affect almost all types of services - both those that are regulated by the central authorities (electricity and gas) and those that are set by local government bodies (water, sewage disposal), according to an article in the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine publication issued on February 12.
The article says that the figures are incomplete, although the Economic Development and Trade Ministry said that the forecasted macro-indicators for 2011 take into account estimates that the fee for apartments will grow by 17%, that for water supply by 18%, sewage disposal by 19%, electricity by 40%, natural gas by 50% and hot running water and heating by 24%. The tariffs set by the regional authorities will be different, so it is difficult to give the overall expected changes.
