ODESSA, Feb. 9 – Swedish company Saab could participate in drawing up a general development plan for Odessa, or even be made wholly responsible for drawing up the plan, Odessa Mayor Oleksiy Kostusev said.

"We have an offer from the Saab Company. They are ready to draw up the general development plan of Odessa, in which the latest 'smart city' concept will be implemented. They already have similar experience, and they have invited us to visit Stockholm in early March. Of course, a lot of money is needed for this project, and we do not have the funds to allocate it. But there are businessmen who are ready to find a grant of about EUR 1.6 million in order to draw up this project. And even if we fail to implement it, this experience and world tendencies are worth studying," Kostusev said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
