KIEV, Feb. 9 – The introduction of a ban on the early return of deposits could make them less attractive to depositors, Oleksandr Suhoniako according to the president of the Association of Ukrainian Banks.

"The issue should be studied carefully… A strict legal ban on the early return of fixed deposits could reduce their attractiveness to clients," he said in a posting on the AUB's Web site, commenting on an initiative of the National Bank of Ukraine to discuss the issue.
