KIEV, Jan. 31 – The abolition of a package of anticorruption laws in Ukraine may signal that the Ukrainian authorities are moving in the wrong direction, President of the Council of Europe Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) Drago Kos has said.
"The abolition of the package and the liquidation of the Anti-Corruption Policy Bureau may indicate an important and disappointing step in the wrong direction, if a better solution to the situation with the laws and the [anticorruption] bureau is not found soon," he said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper.
