KIEV, Feb. 1 – The National Bank of Ukraine in January (not taking into account trading on January 31, 2011) bought $674 million on the interbank currency market, Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of the group of advisers to the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine said.
"The balance of NBU's transactions is positive, which occurred first over many months – around $280 million," he said.
He said that thanks to the positive balance, several days ago well diversified international reserves of the central bank again exceeded $35 billion.
