KIEV, Dec. 24 – Britain's Regal Petroleum plc with assets in Ukraine could be deprived of its licenses to develop the Mekhediviska-Golotvshinska (MEX-GOL) and Svyrydivske (SV) gas and condensate fields in Poltava region.
The board chairman of Nadra Ukrayiny, Eduard Stavytsky, told the press that the reason of the licenses cancellation is the non-fulfillment of the company's liabilities.
"We have some claims to Regal Petroleum, among which are the non-fulfillment of its liabilities before the state, improper use of deposits, violation of geological requirements for operation at the said fields and some other infringements. These problems accumulated over the past 2.5 years have led Regal Petroleum to a failure, not even to a crisis. Our claims are very serious, and we're ready to raise the question of the cancelation of the licenses and return them to Nadra Ukrainy in the next two or three months," Stavytsky said.
