KIEV, Dec. 21 – A group of 53 MPs has appealed to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine for the Tax Code to be declared unconstitutional, as the document was adopted in violation of Article 15 of the constitution and is of a discriminatory character, the press service of the parliamentary committee for industrial and regulatory policy and entrepreneurship reported.
"According to the Budgetary Code, the Tax Code can come into effect on January 1 of the next year, as the government wants, only if it is officially published by August 15 of the current year. As the Tax Code was approved only in December, then according to the law, it can come into force only in a year – starting from January 1, 2012. Otherwise, this will be a direct violation of the legislation," the press service cited a co-author of the motion and the committee's head, Natalia Korolevska, as saying.
