KIEV, Dec. 13 – The National Communications Regulatory Commission plans to announce in January 2011 a tender to issue licenses for the use of the radio frequency bands in the 2,100 MHz range for 3G mobile communications.
"It's not a matter of principle whether we announce it on January 10 or January 15. I think that the final picture will be clear by the end of the year… We've always had to settle the issue with military bodies and it took two-and-a-half years to settle them [last time]. We've set the prices [for the conversion of the band range]. A draft conversion plan is being finally agreed," a NCRC member, Volodymyr Smoliar, told the press in Kiev on December 10.
