KIEV, Dec. 3 – The Prosecutor General's Office has said that targeted funds received by Ukraine under the Kyoto Protocol have been illegally converted and misused, rather than transferred to a special deposit, as Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has claimed.

"The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is authorized to inform that in fact the investigation into the case under which Yulia Tymoshenko was questioned showed that the targeted funds received by Ukraine under the Kyoto Protocol have been illegally converted and misused," the press service reported on Friday.

It said that Tymoshenko's claims that these funds are on special deposit accounts "do not reflect reality."
