KIEV, Dec. 3 – The sharp temperature drops of recent days are likely to reoccur in December-February 2010-2011, although on the whole a rather warm winter is expected, head of the department for the long-term forecasting at the Ukrainian Scientific and Research Hydrometeorological Institute Vizara Martazinova has said.

"On the whole, the winter will be warm, [and] warmer than the previous year, but we will see sharp short-term [temperature] drops again," she said at a press conference in Kiev.
