KIEV, Nov. 29 – The deficit of Ukraine's 2010 national budget amounted to UAH 56.579 billion in January through October, which was 4.6% over the annual target set at UAH 54.095 billion, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, the national budget deficit in the first 10 months of 2010 exceeded the same indicator of 2009 by more than twofold – a lower level of the national budget deficit last year was secured, among other things, by delaying the repayment of VAT refunds.

The ministry reported that the deficit of the national budget in October 2010 alone was UAH 3.799 billion, which was 55.3% down on September 2010 (UAH 8.503 billion).
