KIEV, Nov. 29 – The unbiased attitude of the State Statistics Committee to presenting of price statistics is in doubt, according to Valentyn Symonenko, the head of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.

"The statistics in our state are like a poem in figures. The reality of figures depends on the inspiration of authors… No one can check the assessment of inflation. As for GDP; it's no longer poetry but a tragicomedy," he said in an interview with the 2000 weekly edition.
