ODESSA, Nov. 26 – Several thousand businessmen took part in a rally against the adoption of the Tax Code held in front of the building of Odessa regional administration.
According to the police, around 1,000 people took part in the rally. The rally participants said that 3,000-5,000 people took part in it. Among protesters were representatives of the Seventh Kilometer, Pivnichny, Privoz and other markets.
The chairman of the Association of Employers of South Ukraine, Yuriy Borschenko, said that businessmen demanded from local authorities to ask Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to veto the Tax Code.
"We have the only claim to authorities: to support people and ask the president to veto the new Tax Code… This Tax Code wounds everyone. We also demand to dismiss Mykhailo Brodsky – the head of the state committee for regulatory policy and entrepreneurship – and code authors – [Serhiy] Tyhypko, [Borys] Kolesnikov and first of all [Mykola] Azarov, who is to be punished even in line with the criminal code," Borschenko said.
