KIEV, Nov. 17 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny expects to gain a clearer view on the issue of Ukraine gas transport system upgrade after a trilateral European Union-Ukraine-Russia meeting scheduled for November 22, Naftogaz Deputy Chairman Vadym Chuprun said at the Gas of Russia 2010 conference held in Moscow.
"We hope that we'll have clarity on what volumes, pace, forces and resources would be used to upgrade the Ukrainian gas transport system," he said.
Chuprun said that apart from the creation of a joint venture in the gas sector between Naftogaz Ukrayiny and Gazprom, the sides are also discussing a project for the further activities of an international consortium on the management and development of the Ukrainian gas transport system. The European Union and Russia have shown readiness to consider the issue of cooperation under international projects on energy transportation, he said.
