KIEV, Nov. 17 - Ukraine’s largest steel and mining group Metinvest completed a transaction to acquire majority control over Illych Metallurgy Company, the country’s No. 2 steelmaker, the group reported Wednesday.

The transaction comes after the clearance by the country’s regulators and anti-cartel authorities and creates Ukraine’s national steel champion and a global steel industry player.
