KIEV, Nov. 11 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny estimates its spending on the settlement of a dispute with Swiss-based natural gas trader RosUkrEnergo at UAH 9.6 billion, reads an audited consolidated report by Naftogaz for 2009 perfomed under international standards.
According to the report, such a sum will occur when Naftogaz abides by a ruling by the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal to return 12.1 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas to RosUkrEnergo (11 bcm originally taken by Naftogaz from RosUkrEnergo in exchange for a debt, and 1.1 bcm as penalty), and when Naftogaz seeks for the payment of $1.7 billion worth of RosUkrEnergo's debt assigned under a contract between Naftogaz and Russia's Gazprom.
