KIEV, Oct. 26 – The Ukrainian Regional Development and Construction Ministry plans to receive UAH 1 billion from the national budget for the realization of the affordable housing construction program and UAH 1 billion in the form of subventions for regional development under a program for the installation of utility networks on land plots where affordable housing is to be built, Regional Development and Construction Minister Volodymyr Yatsuba said.
"In 2011 the ministry plans to receive UAH 1 billion for affordable housing construction and UAH 3 billion in subventions, including UAH 1 billion for the installation of utility networks, while the remaining UAH 2 billion would be used to develop specific social projects – schools, kindergartens, bridges," Yatsuba said.
The minister said that today the ministry aims to increase the discount for buyers under the affordable housing construction program from 30% to some 50%.
