KIEV, Oct. 20 – Domestic medicine is being ousted from the market by Asian products in Ukraine, according to Volodymyr Bortnitsky, an advisor to the chief state inspection for medicine quality control at the Ukrainian Health Ministry.
"We're seeing the ousting of national producers. We primarily link this to the fact that recently a number of cheap medicines supplied from Southeast Asia, including from China and India, to the Ukrainian market, are cheaper than Ukrainian-made medicine," he said during a television video link in Kiev on Tuesday.
