KIEV, Oct. 20 – The target of 7% for photovoltaics (PV) in electricity generation in Ukraine by 2020 would be ambitious, says Barbara Rudek, Manager Strategy & Governmental Policy Affairs at Sharp Energy Solution Europe.
"For Ukraine, a target of 7% for PV in electricity generation by 2020 would be ambitious," she told Interfax-Ukraine.
She noted that the European Parliament in December 2008 passed a directive under which the 27 European counties should increase the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation to 20% by 2020. The European PV industry said its share could be no more than 12%.
