KIEV, Oct. 18 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is considering providing an equity investment of up to EUR 100 million to Lafarge Aggregates Eastern Europe, a regional holding vehicle to be created by Lafarge SA, to manage the existing quarry and distribution operations in Ukraine and pursue further developments in Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Belarus and other selected EBRD countries of operations.
As the EBRD said in a statement on Monday, the subsidiary will be a dedicated vehicle co-owned solely by the EBRD and Lafarge SA (sponsor and majority shareholder), which will be acquiring other operating aggregate quarries and concrete operations, as well as developing new greenfield aggregate and concrete operations.
