KIEV, Oct. 8 – President Viktor Yanukovych, due to the ecological disaster in Hungary, has ordered the authorities to check the state of environmentally hazardous objects in Ukraine and take urgent measures to prevent emergencies, his press service reported on Friday.
The president instructed the prime minister, the heads of ministries and agencies, and the chairman of Odesa Regional State Administration to strengthen the monitoring of the state of water in the Ukrainian section of the Danube River and take comprehensive measures to protect the public and critical infrastructure during possible emergency situations in Ukraine.
