YALTA, Oct. 1 - Ukraine's intention to join the European Union does not mean it will not actively cooperate with other world political and economic centers, President Viktor Yanukovych said at the seventh annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy on Friday.

"We won't refuse the give up our active policy of cooperation with other world political and economic centers," Yanukovych said.

Yanukovych said that currently Ukraine is in fruitful talks with the Russian Federation.
