KIEV, Sept. 29 - Ukraine on Wednesday denied media reports alleging it had been blocking - under pressure from Russia’s Gazprom - supplies of an extra 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Poland.
The Energy and Fuel Ministry, in a statement, said neither Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazovnictwo SA (PGNiG) of Poland nor E.On Ruhrgas of Germany have formally requested transit of the extra gas.
“All volumes of gas that is in a transit mode and coming to the eastern border of Ukraine is being shipped in full to European consumers in line with existing contracts for the transit of gas via Ukraine,” the ministry said in the statement.
