KIEV, Sept. 21 – One of the factors hindering Ukraine's economic development is the public's poor knowledge of English, Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said.

"Your country's representatives are very educated, especially in the sphere of science and technology. But there exists one big and crucial weakness: very few people speak fluent English," he said during a presentation of his book "Singapore History" in Kiev on Tuesday.
