KIEV, Sept. 16 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny will seek the return of $1.7 billion of RosUkrEnergo debt assigned under a contract with Russia's Gazprom, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko said at a meeting of Parliament's temporary commission investigating a Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal ruling and the activities of RosUkrEnergo.
"If you ask me whether we'll take away [the debt], I can tell you that we'll take it away," he said.
The minister noted that lawyers advising Naftogaz considered the debt assignment contract to be in force.
