KIEV, Aug. 31 – OJSC Semiconductor plant (Zaporizhia) plans after reconstruction to produce over 10,000 tons of polysilicon per year to generate solar energy, according to a posting on the Web site of Zaporizhia regional state administration.

The launch of the first stage of production is scheduled for the fourth quarter of
2010.

Volodymyr Kaltsev, the first deputy head of the regional administration, noted that the region is seeking ways to sell the plant's produce.
